The RFS media bush fire safety training is offered to media personnel such as journalists, photographers, presenters and producers. Anyone wishing to undertake media bush fire safety training must have a professional interest in reporting on bush fires for a legitimate media organisation, for the dissemination of public information and warnings.
While the annual training for media was held in August, we will be holding an additional one-off online training session on Wednesday 13 November 2024 at 12:00pm.
This session is in addition to our annual training and is for those members of the media who missed those sessions and now require accreditation or renewal. This will be the only available date and time and is subject to operational activity.
Please note that if you choose to participate online, you must individually register and individually log on to the training session. This is to ensure all participants fully complete the training and are updated on important safety information. Accreditation will not be provided if you are not individually logged in to the session.
This year you will complete the assessment online during the training session and this must be submitted and checked at the end of the training presentation, before logging off. There will not be an option to complete and submit the assessment after this.
Register for this session using the following form. Please complete all sections and provide all details requested.
You will receive joining instructions and link to online assessment form before the day of the training, to the email address provided in this registration.
If you have any questions or issues please contact the RFS State Duty Media Officer on (02) 9898 1855 or media@rfs.nsw.gov.au.
